Virtual Exploration
One of my favorite hobbies is virtually searching the world with google maps. I particularly enjoy using Google Street View in order to explore parts of the world I never have, and likely never will, visit. I like to document my adventures with countless screenshots of beautiful, strange, compelling, and humorous things I find along the way. This website is a place to share the best of them.
I have taken on this experiment out of a love for exploration and coincidence. Google Maps enables me to catch a glimpse of the terrain, the people, the architecture, and the atmosphere of more places than I could ever dream of visiting in real life. But more than that, I am enthralled with the the role that chance plays in this experiment of mine. First of all, it is a great coincidence that the Google Maps camera has managed to capture all of the spectacular scenes that it has made available to us. Secondly, it is by sheer luck that I have managed to come across these scenes that I find so compelling.
I should also mention a third reason I do this, which is simply that I love the internet.
